Abstract

Memory is the catalytic agent between the past days and the present. “Smritir Bhumika”, in this respect, is an excellent poem of Tagore. It is in his poetical work “Sanai”. Poetry aims at configuration of memory by virtue of encoding a feeling in words. We are bound in the trap of temporary existence. But, our memory, combined with our imagination is spread throughout time and space of the world of our consciousness. This paper aims at correlating some such memory related poems and songs of Tagore from the perspective of phenomenology.
