Samenvatting
Yuval Harari voorspelde in 2016 in zijn boek Homo Deus dat binnen twintig jaar 80 % van de dokters overbodig zullen zijn. Inmiddels zijn wij van doctor-centered care de laatste 30 jaar al naar patient-centered care opgeschoven. Als iedereen zijn eigen medische gegevens in eigen beheer heeft zal de stap naar patient self-management voltooid zijn. De belofte is dat MedMij in 2020 voor iedereen bereikbaar is, mogelijk lopen wij in Nederland dan al op Harari’s voorspelling vooruit. De resterende 20 % dokters, is dan over voor de huisarts, die voornamelijk een rol als coach zal hebben om patienten desgewenst te begeleiden in het nemen van belangrijke beslissingen.
