Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk laat zien hoe het ziekzijn van de patiënt vervlochten is met de persoon van de zieke en hoe de professionele rol vervlochten is met de persoon van de professional. Door specialisatie, grootschaligheid, verzakelijking en toenemend inzetten van technologie is er een tendens om persoon en rol van elkaar te scheiden. Dit hoofdstuk schetst hoe de geneeskunde modern en persoonlijk kan blijven.
