Samenvatting
Patiënten blijken te leren van eigen ervaringen en door informatie van anderen, maar ook op basis van observatie. De groepsbehandeling werd ontwikkeld op basis van de verwachting dat het observeren van een medepatiënt een sterkere leerervaring kan geven dan het observeren van de behandelaar, en dat groepsdynamiek het herkennen van irreële cognities kan vergemakkelijken. De groepsbehandeling is gebaseerd op de individuele behandeling, recente literatuur en ervaringen van het behandelteam en bestaat uit een individuele sessie, negen groepssessies en een terugkomsessie. Naar aanleiding van evaluatie door groepsinterviews met behandelaars en patiënten kan worden geconcludeerd dat graded exposure in groepsvorm bruikbaar is. Patiënten geven aan dat het zien bewegen van andere patiënten ook henzelf stimuleert tot meer bewegen, wat hun zelfvertrouwen vergroot. Behandelaars observeren dat het zien bewegen van anderen patiënten helpt hun angst om te bewegen te overwinnen. Het herkennen van irreële cognities wordt vergemakkelijkt in de groep, mits er ten minste twee deelnemers met schadecognities zijn.
