Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk worden de lichaamssamenstelling en de mechanismen die betrokken zijn bij het handhaven van de balans (homeostase), besproken. De pathofysiologie van een teveel respectievelijk tekort aan water en zout en oorzakelijke aandoeningen worden toegelicht, evenals elektroliet- en zuur/basestoornissen die regelmatig in de praktijk voorkomen. Afgesloten wordt met een paragraaf over voeding en als verstoringen overgewicht en ondervoeding.
