Toestandsbeelddenken en herziening van het ABCDE voor de huisarts

Samenvatting

De huisarts is opgeleid in het diagnostisch denkmodel. Ook in acute situaties maakt hij daar meestal gebruik van. In de urgentiegeneeskunde is de ABCDE-benadering gebruikelijk en daarin wordt gebruikgemaakt van toestandsbeelddenken (TBD). In vergelijking met diagnostisch denken is toestandsbeelddenken een elementair andere wijze van beoordelen van de patiënt. In dit hoofdstuk wordt stilgestaan bij het TBD en de veranderingen die sinds kort zijn doorgevoerd in de ABCDE-benadering van de acute patiënt door de huisarts. De ABCDE-benadering wordt per onderdeel besproken, aan de hand van het zakkaartje dat door het NHG en de Huisartsenopleiding Nederland is uitgebracht, zonder daarbij al te zeer in details te treden.
