Samenvatting

Claire van Someren heeft artritis psoriatica. Ze gebruikt biologicals om de schadelijke gevolgen van de artritis zoveel mogelijk tegen te gaan. In dit hoofdstuk leest u meer over deze aandoening en de werking van biologicals.

Door gebrek aan vetpolster zorgt overmatige druk zowel links als rechts voor hardnekkige neuroclavi onder caput metatarsale V. Medisch pedicure Marijke Schouten-Paquay demonstreert hoe zij deze uiterst pijnlijke clavi met behulp van turbinefreesjes aanpakt. Collega’s Juliëtte Aalders en Cecile van den Boogaard vertellen over hun ervaringen met het turbinehandstuk en -freesjes.

Zeven jaar later is de artritis psoriatica helaas verergerd. Gelukkig is het aantal en de ernst van de neuroclavi door de frequente voetverzorging en de zorgvuldige zelfzorg afgenomen. De nagels van de halluci vereisen echter tegenwoordig wat meer zorg.
