Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk wordt, aan de hand van een casus, het klinisch redeneerproces van de fysiotherapeut geschetst vanaf het moment dat de patiƫnt binnenkomt en de fysiotherapeut nog niet weet wat er aan de hand is. Het hoofdstuk start met algemene informatie over de epidemiologie van pijn aan de enkel of voet, de risicofactoren en de prognose. Vervolgens wordt besproken wat er wetenschappelijk bekend is over de validiteit van de anamnese, het lichamelijk onderzoek, provocatietesten en beeldvormende diagnostiek in het valide diagnosticeren van subgroepen van patiƫnten met enkel- en voetpijn.
