Samenvatting

Pulmonalisklepafwijkingen komen zowel geïsoleerd voor als in combinatie met andere congenitale hartafwijkingen. Pulmonalisstenose kan subvalvulair, valvulair en supravalvulair aanwezig zijn. Pulmonalisinsufficiëntie is vaak het gevolg van operatieve behandeling van pulmonalisstenose. Rechter ventrikel-falen kan het gevolg zijn. Echocardiografie speelt een centrale rol in de diagnostiek en follow-up van deze afwijkingen en in het bepalen van het moment van interventie. De methoden die hiervoor ter beschikking staan worden in dit hoofdstuk uitgebreid besproken.
