Introductie

Een val op de schouder kan allerlei gevolgen hebben. Ligamenten kunnen verrekken of scheuren, de schouder kan luxeren, zowel acromioclaviculair als glenohumeraal, botten kunnen breken en spieren of pezen kunnen scheuren. Het is de kunst om al deze vormen van pathologie van elkaar te onderscheiden en de juiste therapie toe te passen. Het zijn de ‘lagtesten’ die in dit hoofdstuk uitsluitsel geven over de diagnose. Niet zelden bestaat er twijfel over het al dan niet opereren van een letsel. Bij deze casus wordt zowel de conservatieve oefentherapie besproken als de operatieve behandeling inclusief revalidatie.
