De heup

Samenvatting

Het heupgewricht is de schakel tussen het bekken en het bovenbeen. Het is een kogelgewricht, waardoor het bovenbeen ten opzichte van het bekken in bijna alle richtingen kan bewegen. Door middel van stevige ligamenten is het een stabiel gewricht. De spieren rond de heup zijn zeer stevig omdat ze een rol spelen bij de stabiliteit van het rechtop staan en lopen.

In dit hoofdstuk gaan we in op de functionele anatomie van de heup en het lichamelijk onderzoek. Aan de hand van casuïstiek gaan we in op de klachten waarmee patiënten bij de huisarts in de praktijk komen wanneer er problemen zijn in en rond het heupgewricht.
