Data en onzekerheden bij standaardisering van antimicrobiële middelen

Samenvatting

Ondanks dat maat en getal zijn toegevoegd in de diagnostiek en werking van infecties en de werking van antimicrobiële middelen zijn het ontwikkelen van betere bepalingsmethoden nodig. Het is een uitdaging voor de farmaceutische industrie om middelen te ontwikkelen met goede farmacokinetische (penetratie, halfwaardetijden) en -dynamische (werking op nog niet delende bacteriën) eigenschappen, die weinig toxisch zijn. Nieuwe methoden zitten echter wel in de pijplijn.
