Inleiding
Op basis van de nationale gezondheidsenquête in België (2010) kunnen we stellen dat lagerugklachten zijn geëvolueerd tot de meest voorkomende zelfgerapporteerde aandoening en aldus een aanzienlijk probleem vormen binnen de gezondheidszorg. De hoge prevalentie leidt in de beroepsbevolking tot hoge directe en indirecte kosten. De musculoskeletale fysiotherapie/kinesitherapie heeft zich over de laatste decennia meer en meer weten te profileren als een gerespecteerde subdiscipline met een duidelijke identiteit binnen de revalidatie van deze groep patiënten.
