Abstract
Snel handelen is essentieel bij de opvang van een patiënt met een ernstige anafylaxie. Bij dreigende respiratoire en/of circulatoire insufficiëntie is adrenaline het middel van eerste keus. Dit middel remt de oedeemvorming, geeft direct vasoconstrictie en bronchusdilatatie, en remt de verdere release van mediatoren (waardoor de allergische reactie stopt en minder ernstig verloopt).
