Inleiding

Assessment dat verricht wordt in het kader van CRA, bestaat uit drie onderdelen: de motivatie voor verandering identificeren en versterken, achtergrondinformatie en informatie over middelengebruik verzamelen en de CRA-functieanalyse uitvoeren. De informatie die in dit beginstadium verkregen wordt, zal in vervolgsessies worden gebruikt om een behandelplan te formuleren en vooruitgang te monitoren.

    Met rationalisatie wordt grofweg bedoeld: eigen gedrag logisch maken of verantwoorden. Bij projectie worden de oorzaken van het drinken buiten zichzelf geplaatst.

    In de verslavingsliteratuur, zoals onder meer het model van Marlatt en Gordon (1985) illustreert, wordt veelal onderscheid gemaakt in intrapersoonlijke (hiertoe worden fysieke alsmede psychologische processen zoals persoonlijke opvattingen, waarden en houdingen gerekend), en interpersoonlijke omstandigheden (hiertoe wordt een belangrijke invloed toegekend aan sociale en relationele processen in contact met personen) die de zelfcontrole kunnen bedreigen.
