Abstract

Rond honderdvijftig miljoen jaar geleden zijn de vogels (klasse Aves) ontstaan uit hagedisachtige reptielen. Veel van de anatomische en fysiologische kenmerken van vogels zijn gelijk aan die bij reptielen. Een belangrijk verschil is dat vogels homeotherm zijn en reptielen poikilotherm.
