Samenvatting
De diagnostiek van virale infecties heeft de afgelopen decennia een grote ontwikkeling doorgemaakt. Terwijl in het verleden virale verwekkers in vele gevallen niet konden worden aangetoond, dan wel pas enkele weken na het begin van de ziekte, kan met de huidige diagnostische tests een virale verwekker niet alleen met grotere gevoeligheid, maar ook sneller worden aangetoond.
