Samenvatting

Cerumen (oorsmeer) is een waterafstotende beschermende laag die de huid van de uitwendige gehoorgang beschermt tegen infecties, trauma’s en waterbeschadiging. Een overmaat aan cerumen kan de gehoorgang afsluiten en klachten geven zoals slechthorendheid en een drukgevoel op het oor. Een nauwe gehoorgang predisponeert hierbij. Er zijn drie methoden om oorsmeer te verwijderen:
