De behandeling van COPD is in de eerste lijn alleen op goed niveau mogelijk wanneer er sprake is van teamwerk. Samenwerking met doktersassistentes, praktijkondersteuners, praktijkverpleegkundigen, fysiotherapeuten en apothekers schept nieuwe mogelijkheden voor intensieve begeleiding.
