Samenvatting
De ziekte van De Quervain wordt in het algemeen omschreven als een peesschedeontsteking (tendovaginitis ofwel tenosynovitis ) van de m. abductor pollicis longus en de m. extensor pollicis brevis . De pezen lopen door het eerste compartiment van de extensorenloge ter plaatse van de processus styloideus radii (figuur 2a-1) . Dit compartiment is ongeveer 1 cm lang. Hier ontstaat pijn als de pezen tijdens bewegen van de duim met hun peesscheden door het compartiment ‘schuiven’.
