Samenvatting
Röntgenfoto’s, waartoe ook functieopnamen behoren, ct-scans, mri-opnamen en discografieën kunnen een hulpmiddel zijn bij het beoordelen van pathologie van de lumbale wervelkolom. In het bijzonder mri kan weke delen en kraakbeen zoals de discus intervertebralis goed in beeld brengen. In veel studies is echter aangetoond dat de ernst van de discopathie zoals die wordt gezien bij beeldvorming vaak niet overeenkomt met de ernst van de symptomen die de patiënt laat zien.1,2,3,4
