Abstract
U bent huisarts. Rita Verwey, een Creools-Surinaamse vrouw van 68 jaar die veertig jaar in Nederland woont, komt bij u op het spreekuur. Mevrouw Verwey heeft al langer last van haar maag en van druk op de borst, maar de klachten zijn erger geworden sinds haar man vorig jaar overleden is. Ze mist haar man heel erg, hij was haar beste maatje. Ook vindt ze het vreselijk dat ze alles zelf moet doen. Allerlei administratieve taken heeft ze moeten leren. Het koken, waaraan ze voorheen veel plezier beleefde, vindt ze niet meer leuk nu ze dat alleen voor zichzelf moet doen. Alleen als de familie komt, wil ze nog graag een feestmaal maken. Voor zichzelf maakt ze liever grote porties klaar die ze kan invriezen.
