3 Rol van cardiopulmonaire inspanningstesten bij de functionele beoordeling van personen met cardiaal lijden

Samenvatting

Cardiopulmonaire inspanningstesten (CPIT) met ademgasanalyse worden gebruikt om de functionele capaciteit van patiënten te beoordelen. Een eerste reeks inspanningsparameters verschaft informatie over het zuurstoftransport en -gebruik tijdens CPIT: de maximale zuurstofopname en de ventilatoire aeroob-anaerobe overgang. Een tweede groep variabelen beoordeelt vooral de ventilatoire efficiëntie en controle tijdens inspanning: de VE/VCO2-slope, de oxygen uptake efficiency slope en de oscillatoire ventilatie tijdens inspanning. Bij het gebruik van CPIT bij populaties met cardiale aandoeningen dienen specifieke aandachtspunten in acht te worden genomen. Doordat de cardiologie niet up-to-date is, worden CPIT ondergebruikt in de hedendaagse klinische beoordeling van hartpatiënten.
