Samenvatting

Met betrekking tot het onderwerp chirurgie en lymfoedeem zijn er twee belangrijke vragen. Allereerst: bestaat er een wetenschappelijk bewezen c.q. wetenschappelijk aanvaardbare chirurgische behandeling van lymfoedeem? En vervolgens: kan men ‘straffeloos’ een operatie uitvoeren in de aanwezigheid van lymfoedeem?
