De heer Arendze is een 43-jarige man bij wie de diagnose glioblastoom werd gesteld. Hij werd behandeld met bestraling en chemotherapie. De prognose zou ongunstig zijn, hij zou nog maar drie maanden te leven hebben. Op internet las hij over een Nederlandse patiënt die ook nog maar drie maanden te leven had, maar na behandeling in een Duits centrum na een halfjaar nog steeds in prima conditie was.
