Samenvatting
Gezond zijn is niet hetzelfde als het ontbreken van ziekte. Als niet aangetoond kan worden dat het menselijk lichaam biologisch niet goed functioneert, mogen we niet concluderen dat de patiënt gezond is. Chronische diffuse pijn komt vaak voor. Patiënten ervaren behalve langdurige pijn moeite met functioneren en een verminderde kwaliteit van leven. Bij veel van deze patiënten kan de oorzaak niet worden vastgesteld en worden geen afwijkingen in anatomie of fysiologie gevonden.
