Samenvatting

Acute (sub)luxatie van de pees van de m. extensor digitorum ter plaatse van het metacarpofalangeale gewricht veroorzaakt lokale pijn en zwelling, en een verstoorde extensie van het metacarpofalangeaal gewricht. Bijna altijd scheurt de sagittale band aan de radiale zijde van de pees, waardoor de pees naar ulnair kan afglijden. Langdurige luxatie leidt tot schrompeling van de ulnaire sagittale band, wat repositie van de pees lastig maakt.

    Het retinaculum extensorum wordt als donorweefsel gebruikt voor diverse operaties, onder andere voor reconstructie van pulleys van flexorpezen, voor het stabiliseren van een luxerende pees van de m. extensor carpi ulnaris, voor herstel van scafolunaire instabiliteit en zelfs voor herstel van gewrichtsbeschadigingen.
