Samenvatting
Artritis (ofwel capsulitis) is een inflammatie van een gewricht; het gewrichtskapsel is aangedaan en vertoont de kenmerken van ontsteking: pijn, zwelling, roodheid en warmte. Er bestaan honderden oorzaken voor een gewrichtsontsteking. Vele zijn zeldzaam en moeilijk te diagnosticeren door een regulier arts of paramedicus. Een reumatoloog is de aangewezen persoon om te differentiëren tussen al deze aandoeningen. Soms blijft de diagnose onbekend.
