Samenvatting
Artrose van heup- en kniegewrichten komt veel voor bij ouderen.Wanneer sprake is van ernstige artrose dan heeft dit grote gevolgen voor de kwaliteit van het leven van de betrokken patiënt; de loopafstand wordt klein vanwege pijn in het aangedane gewricht. Niet zelden besluit men tot een operatie waarbij een endoprothese wordt geplaatst. Aangezien dit een ingrijpende operatie betreft, is het van groot belang een betrouwbare diagnose te kunnen stellen.
