Samenvatting

Men spreekt van een niet-functionerende hypofysetumor/incidentaloom indien het hypofyseadenoom geen klinische verschijnselen veroorzaakt die passen bij hormonale overproductie. Tevens dient overproductie van groeihormoon, prolactine en cortisol te zijn uitgesloten. Patiƫnten komen in het medische circuit ten gevolge van verschijnselen van neurologische/oogheelkundige dan wel endocriene uitval of worden bij toeval ontdekt (incidentaloom).
