Abstract

De psycholoog stelt vast dat er bij Marieke sprake is van een specifieke fobie voor spinnen. Specifieke fobieën komen veel voor en zijn, als ze niet behandeld worden, in de meeste gevallen chronisch. Toch zijn ze niet vaak reden om hulp te zoeken. De fobische stimulus of situatie is doorgaans zo goed te vermijden dat er onvoldoende beperkingen in het dagelijks functioneren optreden om die stap te zetten. Zo was het eerst ook bij Marieke, maar de verhuizing zette haar hele leven op zijn kop.
