Abstract
Insulinebehandeling wordt al vele decennia toegepast. Voor patiënten met diabetes mellitus type 1 is insulinebehandeling een vanzelfsprekend gegeven, terwijl het voor patiënten met diabetes mellitus type 2 aan de orde komt wanneer de behandeling met orale bloedglucoseverlagende middelen niet langer effectief is om de streefwaarden te halen.
