Abstract

In de vorige hoofdstukken is er meerdere keren op gewezen dat uit onderzoek blijkt dat het beeld van de puber die voortdurend met zichzelf en zijn ouders overhoop ligt, meer berust op een hardnekkig stereotype dan op de werkelijkheid. Althans het overgrote deel van de Nederlandse jongeren is tevreden met het leven dat het leidt, heeft respect voor de ouders en voelt zich door hen gesteund. Dat wil uiteraard niet zeggen dat het dagelijkse leven voor hen bestaat uit een aaneenschakeling van vreugde en geluk. Zo is het menselijk bestaan nu eenmaal niet en de jeugd deelt in de narigheid van alledag.
