Samenvatting
Echo-apparatuur wordt steeds beter, waardoor bij de meeste patiënten transthoracale echocardiogrammen van zodanige kwaliteit kunnen worden gemaakt dat de vraagstelling kan worden beantwoord. Wanneer de kwaliteit van het echocardiogram toch onvoldoende is, wordt dat onder andere veroorzaakt door de thoraxwand en/of door aanwezigheid van longweefsel.
