Abstract
Na de endodontische behandeling van een gebitselement doet de vraag zich voor welk opbouwsysteem in welke situatie is aangewezen en welk systeem de hoogste overlevingskans biedt. Sinds de jaren vijftig van de vorige eeuw wordt de gegoten stiftopbouw als ‘de gouden standaard’ beschouwd (afb. 3.1). Maar de afgelopen jaren is men op zoek gegaan naar alternatieve behandelmethoden waarbij gebruik wordt gemaakt van minder invasieve technieken en meer op het tandweefsel gelijkende materialen.
