Cervicale wortelresorptie en endodontische relevantie

Abstract

‘Cervicale wortelresorptie’ is een term die wordt gebruikt voor een relatief zeldzame, maar agressieve vorm van externe resorptie. Het optreden ervan wordt gekenmerkt door een cervicale lokalisatie en een invasieve aard. Cervicale wortelresorptie is een proces dat vaak leidt tot irreversibel verlies van harde tandweefsels zoals cement, dentine en glazuur, al dan niet in combinatie met afbraak van het aangrenzende bot (Gunraj, 1999; Heithersay, 2004) (afb. 2.1).
