Samenvatting

Klinisch laten de aandoeningen van de periapex zich als volgt indelen:

  1. 1

    Periapicale aandoeningen geassocieerd met pulpitis en pulpanecrose:

    1. a

      Parodontitis apicalis:

      • primair acuut

      • chronisch

      • secondair acuut (vaak pijnlijke opvlamming)

    2. b

      Bijverschijnselen van parodontitis apicalis:

      • pijn

      • apicale wortelresorptie

      • apicale hypercementose

      • focale chronische scleroserende osteomyelitis

    Klinisch wordt vaak de term ‘true’ cementoma gebruikt ter wille van het onderscheid met (false) cementoma of periapical cemental dysplasia.

    Periapicale fibreuze of fibro-osseuze dysplasie, focal cemento-osseous dysplasia (FCOD), cementofibroom, periapicaal osteofibroom, cementoom.

    Keratocystic odontogenic tumour. Voorheen keratocyste.

    Collateral inflammatory cyst, inflammatory lateral periodontal cyst.
