Samenvatting
Pathologisch verlies van tandweefsel wordt veroorzaakt door cariës, erosie, abrasie of fracturen, maar ook door resorptie. Resorptie is het proces waarbij tandweefsel wordt afgebroken door osteoclasten. De osteoclasten worden vaak aangeduid als odontoclasten, cementoclasten, of soms als dentoclasten als het om de afbraak van tandweefsel gaat.
