Abstract
Het onderwerp van dit hoofdstuk is deeltijdbehandeling, ook wel (opnamevervangende) dagbehandeling genoemd. Binnen de voorzieningen van de reguliere geestelijke gezondheidszorg heeft men hiermee al enkele decennia ervaring opgedaan. In de zorg voor mensen met een verstandelijke beperking is deze vorm van behandeling echter relatief nieuw. Eerst besteden wij aandacht aan de plaats van deeltijdbehandeling tussen andere vormen van behandeling. Vervolgens bespreken wij in kort bestek de literatuur met betrekking tot respectievelijk deeltijdbehandeling in de psychiatrie en in de zorg voor mensen met een verstandelijke beperking.
