Samenvatting

De orale vloeistof werd lange tijd beschouwd als een onbelangrijk lichaamsvocht. Tandartsen komen er dagelijks mee in aanraking en meestal wordt het als storend ervaren bij een behandeling. Maar patiënten die om één of andere reden te weinig speeksel produceren, hebben vaak vele orale klachten. Dit orale vocht is dus wel van groot belang voor het handhaven van de orale functies.
