Samenvatting

De in dit hoofdstuk samengebrachte onderwerpen immigratie en afwijkende ontwikkeling cree¨ren in hun combinatie een gevoelig thema. In politieknationalistische kringen, zowel tegenwoordig als in het verleden, worden immigranten beschouwd als ‘vreemdelingen’ en als ‘brengers van het kwaad’, als ‘ontwrichters van rust en waardigheid’ of in een moderne variant ‘bedreigers van sociale cohesie’ (Lucassen, 2006).
