Samenvatting

De operatieve behandeling van kinderen met een aangeboren hartafwijking is erop gericht een zo normaal mogelijke hartfunctie te verkrijgen. Er zijn zeer veel verschillende aangeboren en verworven hartaandoeningen met even zovele verschillende operatieve technieken, hetgeen de generalisatie van bevindingen bemoeilijkt wat terug te vinden is in een grote spreiding, van bijvoorbeeld de maximale inspanningscapaciteit binnen patiëntengroepen.
