Samenvatting

Binnen de medische beeldvormende techniek moet het (primaire) beeldscherm worden gezien als een onderdeel van een meetsysteem. Dit geldt overigens voor de gehele beeldketen; de kwaliteit van de beeldweergave dient optimaal en reproduceerbaar te zijn, omdat conclusies die de medicus trekt uit het getoonde beeld ingrijpende consequenties kunnen hebben. Medische beeldschermen, die ingezet worden voor diagnostiek en/of behandeling, dienen daarom een hoger kwaliteitsniveau te bieden dan beeldschermen voor de consumenten- en kantoormarkt.[1]
