Goed werken vereist adequaat zien. Dat deze stelling niet altijd klopt, wordt geïllustreerd door de blinde jurist of telefonist die voortreffelijk kan werken. Het vakgebied dat zich richt op de aanpassing van het werk aan de visuele mogelijkheden wordt visuele ergonomie genoemd.
