Psychodynamische modellen: van Freud tot Fonagy

Abstract

Het psychodynamische gedachtegoed bestaat uit een rijk palet aan diverse stromingen. De Wolf (1998) noemt drie hoofdstromingen: het driftmodel, het objectrelatiemodel en de zelf-psychologie. De ego-psychologie plaatst hij binnen het driftmodel. Zoals wel vaker gebeurt, noemt hij de Franse traditie apart en dan alleen de bijdragen van Lacan. Wij laten de Franse psychoanalytische traditie hier ook verder buiten beschouwing. De Jonghe (2005) noemt zelfs zes ‘deeltheorieën’ binnen de psychoanalytische traditie: de drifttheorie, de ego-psychologie, de objectrelatietheorie, de zelfpsychologie, de hechtingstheorie en de primaireliefdetheorie. Het is dan ook onjuist om te spreken van ‘de’ psychodynamische traditie. De woorden psychodynamisch of dynamisch kunnen overigens als synoniemen gebruikt worden voor psychoanalytisch (Gabbard, 2000).
