Il bacino è costituito dal sacro e dalle ossa dell’anca le quali hanno origine da tre centri di ossificazione: l’ileo, l’ischio e il pube. Le ossa dell’anca si connettono posteriormente al sacro mediante le articolazioni sacroiliache e tra loro anteriormente a livello della sinfisi pubica, che è costituita da un disco fibrocartilagineo la cui stabilità è garantita superiormente dal legamento pubico, inferiormente dal legamento arcuato.
