Riassunto
Tra i concetti maggiormente interessanti in teoria delle categorie troviamo quello di trasformazione naturale e quello di equivalenza di categorie; molta della matematica degli ultimi 60 anni non potrebbe esistere senza queste due nozioni. Citando Mac Lane [14], si può dire che i funtori sono stati introdotti per definire le trasformazioni naturali e le categorie sono state introdotte per definire i funtori.
