Riassunto
Con il termine protozoi ci si riferisce a un gruppo molto vario di organismi eucarioti microscopici unicellulari ed eterotrofici, che adesso sono stati classificati in uno dei 5 phyla del regno dei protisti. Tuttavia, nell’uso comune, il termine “protozoi” viene ancora utilizzato, e per questo motivo si è deciso di mantenerlo in questo capitolo.
