Riassunto
La comprensione del ruolo degli emisferi cerebrali nella comunicazione verbale è cambiata negli ultimi decenni. Se in generale si ritiene che l’emisfero sinistro sostenga gli aspetti formali del linguaggio (ad esempio, la fonologia), l’integrità dell’emisfero destro è considerata necessaria per una comunicazione verbale ricca ed efficiente. In particolare, una lesione all’emisfero destro può danneggiare alcune componenti verbali di livello superiore.
