Abstract
Nasolabial folds often deepen with aging, giving to the face a tired and sagging appearance. The most significant factor that contributes to the prominence of the folds is the loss of facial volume and skin elasticity as we age. Facial structure and genetic factors also give a contribution to determine the depth of these wrinkles. Many times the best way to give a better appearance to the patient’s face is by addressing the overall volume loss and not just treating an individual fold. In this section, we will concentrate on the nasolabial folds by themselves.
